DRIES VAN NOTEN
Born in Belgium, Dries Van Noten is a third-generation tailor. He studied fashion design at Antwerp's Royal Acady and launched his first menswear collection in 1986. Over the decades he has presented biannual collections for men and women, achieving significant milestones with his 50th and 100th fashion shows in 2004 and 2017, respectively.
In 2008, the Council of Fashion Designers of America named him International Designer of the Year. His retrospective exhibition, Inspirations, debuted at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris in 2014 and later traveled to Antwerp in 2015. That same year, he was honored as an Officier de l'Odre des Arts et des Lettres by France and received Antwerp's Culture Award in 2016. In 2023, he was named Designer of the Year by WWD for both his women's and men's collections.
In 2018, PUIG acquired a majority stake in his company, with Dries Van Noten remaining as chief creative officer. Notable highlights include a celebrated 2019 collaboration with Christian Lacroix for the Women's Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
In June 2024, Dries Van Noten presented his final collection as Creative Director of the House. Although stepping down from the role, he continues to contribute to the brand.
In December, Julian Klausner has been appointed Creative Director. He will lead both women's and men's collection.
