Irene Neuwirth is a jewelry designer from Los Angeles. Her love affair with art and color was sparked at an early age by her bohemian, painter's mother, while her business-minded father taught her the principles of entrepreneurship. She began experimenting with jewelry design after college, stringing glass beads, mixing precious and semiprecious stones together without pretense or plan. Soon, she found herself inundated with requests for her one-of-a-kind pieces. On a whim, she sent a selection to Barneys New York, where the buyer placed a significant order. In 2003, Irene Neuwirth Jewelry was born.
Since then, the world has fallen in love with Irene’s whimsical sensibility and easy way with luxury. Her fascination with intense colors and raw, un-manufactured gem cuts have become signatures of her line. As a red carpet favorite, the collection is worn by many of the most accomplished women in entertainment including Naomi Watts, Tracee Ellis Ross, Julianne Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Paulson, Busy Philipps, and Ruth Negga. Also, an editorial darling, the jewelry is consistently featured by top publications including Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Town & Country, W, and The New York Times.
Irene travels the globe to find the most beautiful and interesting gemstones and returns home to LA to design and produce her collection. With sophistication, femininity, and charm, each piece is aspirational and approachable at once. Today the collection can be found at select leading boutiques across the globe, as well as inside our flagship store on Melrose Place, the tree-lined street in West Hollywood. The jewel box space, full of magical diorama displays and luxurious handmade animal sculptures, was designed in collaboration with renowned firm Commune and features a full kitchen for entertaining, making it the perfect extension of Irene’s lifestyle.
